Monarto Zoo Excursion

The excursion to Monarto Zoo is this Thursday 2nd June.

Just a few last minute reminders.

We would like all students here at school by 8:30am so that we can be packed up and leaving by 8:45am.

We have a full program and a long bus trip. One group will do a zoo explore while the other group has a Cubby Building experience in the morning. Then we have lunch together and swap roles for the afternoon.

Please Note: As the program doesn’t finish until 2:00pm we could be as late as 4:00pm getting back to school depending on the bus trip.

Can you please ensure your child has the following:

  • suitable school clothing and footwear
  • drink bottle
  • healthy food for snacks, recess and lunch.

BUG CLUB!!!

http://www.pearsonplaces.com.au/

bugclub_advertBug Club is an exciting new Online Reading Program which the school is now accessing.

All the students in this class have been given a user name and password to log into reading books and activities that are appropriate for their reading level. I can check progress of individual students and comment appropriately on their ability to read, comprehend and then answer questions relevant to the text.

Can you please ask your child about the program and get them to show you the site.

They can access this at any time, but any feedback on issues encountered would be appreciated.

Bridgette has been visiting us regularly and will now be full time for the next 4 weeks.

She will be teaching  a range of subject areas in her time here.

If you get a chance call in and say hello! A letter introducing herself was sent home in term 1.

Clean Up Australia Day

CUAD25_tall_colFriday 4th March (week 5) is Clean Up Australia Schools Day.

The Whole school will be involved in a community clean up. The Primary GLA will be walking from the school to the war memorial on Chandlers Hill Road. We will clean up areas along the way and return.

We will be leaving after recess and return before lunch.

Some BBQ tongs and/or gloves plus a disposable shopping bag would be useful but not necessary.

You are more than welcome to come along and help!!!

Can you help?

Our kitchen and garden sessions alternate on Mondays from 11:20am until 1:00pm.

If you have gardening or cooking skills and you’d like to work with small groups of enthusiastic children then we can help.

Please let me know if you or if you know of anybody who may be interested on a regular or even ad hoc basis eg. grandparents who’d like to volunteer.

A friendly reminder that Braeview School has a nut free policy. Students in our school and in particular this class, have allergies relevant to nut and egg products. Could we please refrain from anything containing these products in your child’s lunch box.

Study Ladder

We will again be using the Study Ladder Program this year.

A letter has been sent home with information about the site and login and password details for the students.

The program is not compulsory, but compliments and enhances the current classroom learning as homework tasks (particularly in Maths).
